06th January 2005 - Medical Response from The Netherlands - Total Outlay GBP 6,500

Medicines arrive from Tr. Frank Alexander, Round Table Rheden 104, The Netherlands worth GBP 6,500. Medical supplies were donated by Pharmacist Mrs. Drs. S.O. Belliot, Pharmacy Apotheek Centrum -Velp B.V., The Netherlands to Rotary club Alkemade (NL), district 1600, club nr 306 And Round Table Rheden (NL), club no 104 For Tsunami Relief Operation, Colombo, Sri Lanka. Medicals are assembled by Apotheek Alkemade. Tr. Frank Alexander is a Pilot in the Dutch Airline Martinair and requested his colleague Captain Arie Kruithof, Chairman of Rotary club of Roelofarendsveen, the Netherlands to carry these medicines and hand over to RTSL in Colombo on his next scheduled flight.

10th January 2005 - Medical Response from Ireland - Total Outlay approximately GBP 90,000

Tr. Ken Kissick of Round Table of Britain & Ireland (RTBI) and his team of Doctors, ATM & Nurses arrive in Colombo

Our personal thanks to Tr. Ken Kissick and to Round Table Britain & Ireland (RTBI) for arranging and sponsoring this team of Paramedics. A sum of GBP 30,000 was contributed by RTBI to Tr. Ken Kissick towards their expenses. The Medicines and medical equipments with a retail estimated value of over GBP 60,000 were donated by the pharmacies and medical companies of Ireland. Our thanks to the Paramedic Team, Bob Sheriff, Jonathon Elliot, Kate Smyth, Janine Clarke, Rachel McCracken, Heather Magee, Faith Travers & Dr. Gwyn Beattie. Our special thanks to David Pope and his son Steven for facilitating the team in their home in Matara and for the fantastic hospitality.
